This video was created alongside a wider project for Google showcasing the launch of the TOPAZ subsea cable launched in 2022, the first cable of its kind connecting Canada and Asia. As part of the permitting process, Google liaised with the traditional owners of the region where the cable passed through and the opportunity was given to tell their story in the main videos, but we also took the opportunity to create some bespoke videos for them with more targeted questioning pertaining to their culture and history. This is the story of the Tseshaht First Nation of the Port Alberni area in Vancouver, Canada.
